If you are a mountain biking lover who wants to spend a fun and exciting single trails MTB holiday in Slovenia, this is the trip for you. Join us in the capital city of Ljubljana, where we will go each day to a new MTB area full of adrenaline-pumping opportunities. You’ll visit three fantastic locations in the company of our expert guide. We'll take care of everything, so just hop on your bike and enjoy the ride.

Slovenia is a country of diverse landscapes, each offering unique opportunities for mountain biking enthusiasts. It’s also a hilly country, which means it presents many exhilarating downhills and blood-pumping rides down well-maintained single trails. From wooded hills in the south, urban MTB centers around Ljubljana, and high mountains in the north — Slovenia has something for every downhill biking enthusiast out there.

It will be a week of visiting well-maintained bike parks. On some, you will be lift-assisted, while on some, you’ll have to enjoy the hillsides of the wild trails on your own steam. Our expert guide will advise you on the rides most suitable to your capabilities and preferences and make sure this holiday will be as enjoyable as possible. If any technical issue with the bikes arises, our professional team will quickly take care of it, so you can get back on the trail ASAP. You’ll also have plenty of time to relax and unwind in Ljubljana each evening you return.

Top Places You’ll See

From natural wonders to authentic local culture, the route is packed with memorable sights—these are our absolute favorites.

Kočevje forest info card image 1

Kočevje forest info card

Kočevski gozd (forest) is the largest primeval forest in Slovenia, covering around 500 square kilometers. The area is home to rare wildlife, including brown bears, wolves, and lynxes, making it one of the most important biodiversity reserves in Europe. Visitors can explore marked trails, guided bear-watching tours, and learn about the area’s history as a former restricted military zone during the Cold War.

Golovec image 1

Golovec

Golovec Hill rises right next to Ljubljana and is covered by a dense forest crisscrossed with trails. It is one of the city’s most popular areas for mountain biking, with a maintained trail center offering downhill and enduro routes. The hill also hosts an astronomical observatory that has been operating since 1959.

Krvavec image 1

Krvavec

Krvavec is Slovenia’s most accessible ski resort, located just 25 kilometers from Ljubljana and reachable by cable car. In summer, its slopes turn into a cycling and hiking area with panoramic views across the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. At 1,450–1,970 meters altitude, it also hosts outdoor festivals and alpine dairy farms producing traditional cheeses.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer road cycling, trekking cycling and mountain biking holidays.

Our road cycling holidays are suitable for avid road cycling enthusiasts whose endurance is high enough to withstand multiple long cycling days in a row.

Our trekking cycling holidays are suitable for anyone, as the stages are short enough for most people, and the terrain is not technical — mostly tarmac and gravel. They will still be enjoyed most by people who cycle occasionally and feel comfortable with multiple days in a row on the saddle and some moderate climbing. For those looking for more leisurely cycling holidays, we offer an e-bike option.

Our e-MTB holidays are suitable for most people comfortable on a mountain bike who are fine with some rougher gravel roads and steeper hills, made easier with electric assistance. However, the single trails MTB holidays are suitable mostly for avid mountain bikers, as they tackle technical trails and fast descents, but are very adjustable to your skills and style of riding.

On our guided tours, you will have professional local guides. Our guides will make sure that you will have expert guidance combined with great fun and a memorable experience.

We are always looking for the perfect fit for you. We use a few different accommodation providers that fit our standards but they are subjected to availability, especially in the high season. We can also adjust the holiday, keeping in mind your preferences and budget and can always find a more suitable solution for your taste.

Our tours can be adapted to any bike type, whether road, gravel, or mountain bike. We are in constant communication with you to find the optimal conditions for your cycling holidays in Slovenia.

The most versatile option is a gravel bike, even if you are coming on a road cycling holiday. It does not really affect your road performance while allowing you to take some scenic backroads that can be in a slightly worse state than the main ones. A gravel bike is usually more comfortable as well.

In any way, Slovenia is a very diverse country and there is something for every cyclist. Whichever bike you choose, we will find the perfect route for you to take on your cycling holidays.

If you are not bringing your own bike and equipment, we can certainly arrange that for you. We have a wide selection of bikes at our disposal and we will choose the ones that best fit your tour. All we need from you is your usual bike size and any other relevant information or preferences so we can make sure you will be comfortable throughout your trip.

Bike rentals include the bike that has been agreed upon, delivery prior to and pickup after your tour. Additional equipment is also included: helmet, an extra chain, basic repair kit and pedals if necessary.

We recommend booking as early as possible. Most of our tours run through very touristy places where accommodation is limited. Most of the great places start getting booked for summer before spring.

It really depends on the level of your restriction. Vegetarian options are fairly easy to find in Slovenia, but vegan dishes, on the other hand, are extremely hard to come by in rural areas of the country and in smaller towns. Please note that the places where we stop for lunch are often traditional and may have difficulties accommodating you outside of their standard menu. We suggest you keep this in mind.

I found this place with a simple Google search, and I never could’ve expected the custom experience I received. They provided options to help my husband and I hone in on exactly what we wanted to do for our honeymoon. We had perfectly curated GPS-lead rides all across the country, they booked all of our hotels, and planned all of our transportation. Every place that we went was so beautiful. I’m so grateful that we found this company to help us plan our honeymoon, couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I was able to tailor a bike tour itinerary along the Adriatic coast that suited our group during the shoulder season. We added individual pre and post-trip activities which went smoothly. Our trip included stops in Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. The trip planner, guide and support team were great.

Highly recommend the bike trip from Bled to Pula. It was well planned. We did a small group self-supported. Big fun. Bikes, hotels, route selection and communication with the company was great.

I would highly recommend anyone doing this tour take the e-bike option. There were only 3 of us on our tour who completed this on regular bikes. Four others who started out on regular bikes swapped over to e-bikes after the first day. The climbs are long and steep. There is pretty much only up or down, not much flat or undulating road. It is doable, but very challenging. If you are on an e-bike then this also helps with the group staying together and no-one having to wait too long for others to catch up. The bikes were really good and had great gearing that was capable of handling the steeper climbs. When we booked we were unaware that we would be riding in a group of 20plus at all time. Thankfully our group had prior group riding experience but we did observe other large groups with less than desirable riding behaviours.Others in our group were extremely understanding and supportive. Our guide, David, was very adamant about staying safe on the road. He was flexible with the itinerary and made changes to suit the weather conditions and to ensure we got in as much riding as possible. He was vey knowledgeable about Croatian history and agriculture and taught us lots about the country he is so passionate about. Our captain, Tolma, was also amazing and along with his awesome crew, made our cruise an enjoyable experience.
