Day 2 – Bike Park Krvavec

Bike Park Krvavec offers 16 kilometers of lift-served downhill MTB trails with the largest vertical descent of any bike park in Slovenia. Its 6 marked trails are for all levels of experience. For a long ride down, descend on the 10 kilometers of the combined Jezerca and Muci trail. If you’re up for more of a challenge, check out the jumps and berms of the Rock’N’Flow trail.

The cable car will be taking us up the hill and to the open spaces of the winter ski resort. Before you start your crazy downhill ride, take a breath and look around. The upper part of the park is all about endless views — Pastures and ski slopes allow you to see the whole Ljubljana basin and the highest mountains surrounding it, from the Julian Alps to the Kamnik-Savinja Alps.

Day 3 – Trail Center Kočevje

We’ll head down south to Kočevje, the land of the brown bear, to one of the fastest-growing biking centers in Slovenia. The local MTB enthusiasts have created a network of 9 trails of all difficulties where they also organize yearly events for mountain bikers from Slovenia and abroad. Although the elevation difference is not that big, the 15 kilometers of trails will make for a full day of downhill fun. We will use the help of a shuttle ride for some climbs and tackle the others by ourselves

Day 4 – Golovec Trails

Maybe you have already heard of Golovec Trails, a bike heaven in the middle of a capital city, right next to the city centre. The hardworking and enthusiastic MTB volunteers have created more than 6 kilometers of regularly maintained trails of all difficulties. From the easier flow trails, to the gaps and jumps on the more technically demanding trails, everyone will be able to find something to enjoy on the awesome Golovec hill.

Day 5 – Matajur and the Soča Valley

Matajur is a mountain on our border with Italy, rising above the magnificent Soča Valley. It offers one of the longest natural descents around, 12 kilometers and 1400 vertical meters down the Matadown race trail. The downhill is of medium difficulty and has some more challenging and more flowy sections. All in all, it’s rated as one of the best trails in Europe by several bike magazines.

Our van will take us up the first half of the ascent, while we will continue by bike to the scenic top. The van will be waiting to pick us up after the long and fun descent and take us to the Nadiža River for a refreshing swim. After, we will have a short tour of the Soča Valley, where the braves can unleash their inner Wim Hof and jump in the ice-cold emerald river. Later, we will return home over the famous Vršič Pass.

Day 6 – Petzen Bike Park

Just across the northern border with Austria lies the Petzen Bike Park, which offers the longest flow trail in Europe. This extra smooth trail covers 11 kilometers of distance and 1000 meters of descent. What’s most important is that you will be able to rest a bit on the cable car rides to the top. Besides the easy flow trail, Petzen also has a slightly harder Thriller and the EWS trails, on which World Cup riders test their skills each year. If you want a true challenge, you should definitely try one of these.

The last action day of your holiday will end with a little bit of cross country. We’ll be heading down to the southeast Karst region of Slovenia, where you’ll warm up in the Mediterranean climate. The farther along the trail, the more views of the Adriatic Sea you’ll get. The day will end exactly at sea level, with a dip in the sea to relax your muscles after a long but exciting week.

We made this itinerary in a way that enables you to explore as many different landscapes and various MTB trails as possible in one week.

A local guide with lots of mountain biking experience will take you to the best locations around Slovenia, sometimes even a little bit over the Austrian and Italian borders. He knows the trails you will be zooming down like the back of his hand and will make sure you’ll have an enjoyable experience adapted to your abilities. Some of the trails in bike parks will be lift-accessed by gondola or by van, while some of the wilder trails will be tackled on your own steam. Things to know

We offer road cycling, trekking cycling and mountain biking holidays.
Our road cycling holidays are suitable for avid road cycling enthusiasts whose endurance is high enough to withstand multiple long cycling days in a row.

Our trekking cycling holidays are suitable for anyone, as the stages are short enough for most people, and the terrain is not technical — mostly tarmac and gravel. They will still be enjoyed most by people who cycle occasionally and feel comfortable with multiple days in a row on the saddle and some moderate climbing. For those looking for more leisurely cycling holidays, we offer an e-bike option.

Our e-MTB holidays are suitable for most people comfortable on a mountain bike who are fine with some rougher gravel roads and steeper hills, made easier with electric assistance. However, the single trails MTB holidays are suitable mostly for avid mountain bikers, as they tackle technical trails and fast descents, but are very adjustable to your skills and style of riding.

On our guided tours, you will have professional local guides. Our guides will make sure that you will have expert guidance combined with great fun and a memorable experience.

We are always looking for the perfect fit for you. We use a few different accommodation providers that fit our standards but they are subjected to availability, especially in the high season. We can also adjust the holiday, keeping in mind your preferences and budget and can always find a more suitable solution for your taste.

We recommend booking as early as possible. Most of our tours run through very touristy places where accommodation is limited. Most of the great places start getting booked for summer before spring.

It really depends on the level of your restriction. Vegetarian options are fairly easy to find in Slovenia, but vegan dishes, on the other hand, are extremely hard to come by in rural areas of the country and in smaller towns. Please note that the places where we stop for lunch are often traditional and may have difficulties accommodating you outside of their standard menu. We suggest you keep this in mind.

If you want to, sure! We are well aware that some people love to stay in groups while others prefer some more alone time on their trip. We wanted to give you the opportunity to do things your way. It is your holiday, after all! As long as you respect the group timings and locations designated by your guide, please feel free to customize your itinerary and create your own adventure!

Depending on the tour, generally late spring (May) and early autumn (September) are the best times, summer is of course also always great and some of our holidays are also possible in winter! Read more about cycling seasons in Slovenia.

Most of the tours can be done even in light rain, as long as you dress accordingly. It is not unusual in the summer that there are afternoon thunderstorms, so early starts are advisable. If the weather looks really bad, we will try to adjust the tour or skip a stage with a shuttle.

Our tours can be adapted to any bike type, whether road, gravel, or mountain bike. We are in constant communication with you to find the optimal conditions for your cycling holidays in Slovenia.

The most versatile option is a gravel bike, even if you are coming on a road cycling holiday. It does not really affect your road performance while allowing you to take some scenic backroads that can be in a slightly worse state than the main ones. A gravel bike is usually more comfortable as well.

In any way, Slovenia is a very diverse country and there is something for every cyclist. Whichever bike you choose, we will find the perfect route for you to take on your cycling holidays.

Our single trail MTB holidays are designed for mountain biking enthusiasts who seek technical terrain and are looking for the best MTB trails in the area. The skill of handling a full-suspension mountain bike on technical terrain is necessary. Some tours are gondola assisted, and some climbs are pedal-powered — a satisfying combination for most with decent fitness and stamina.
