This extraordinary journey goes beyond mere biking miles, immersing you in the rich historical charm of vibrant cities, the breathtaking beauty of lush landscapes, and the distinctive cultures of these three captivating countries.

Your expedition commences in the lively capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, where modern vibrancy harmonizes with timeless allure. Pedaling through picturesque villages and rugged terrains, you’ll be swept away by the untouched splendor and tranquility of Polhograjski Dolomiti, setting the tone for the voyage ahead.

As you traverse charming mountain towns like Škofja Loka and Železniki, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views atop Soriška Planina, each turn revealing another breathtaking vista. The journey leads you to the Alpine paradise of Bohinj, where crystal-clear waters and majestic peaks welcome you with open arms.

Continuing from Bohinj to the iconic Bled, you’ll encounter peaceful hamlets, undulating landscapes, and historic landmarks. The path unfolds through Radovna Valley’s majestic scenery, offering optional detours to cascading waterfalls and a serene stopover at Lake Jasna in Kranjska Gora.

The adventure takes a thrilling turn as you cross into Italy, where the expansive landscapes of Sella Nevea showcase the panoramic beauty of the Julian and Carnic Alps. Conquering Slovenia’s highest mountain pass, Vršič Pass, becomes a rewarding feat with awe-inspiring vistas that surpass every cyclist’s imagination.

Discover the enchanting town of Bovec and take on the exhilarating ascent to Mangart, Slovenia’s highest asphalt road, where breathtaking views of the Julian Alps unfold before your eyes. This adventurous ride is contrasted by a serene journey through Goriška Brda, renowned for its wines, where ascending offers glimpses of the Adriatic Sea.

Continuing into Italy’s tranquil Friuli region, you’ll descend from the Karst Plateau, passing through charming villages and cycling along the captivating Istrian coastline until you reach Piran. As you ascend from Buje, the historic heart of Croatia unveils itself, culminating in a leisurely coastal ride through Poreč and Rovinj.

This cycling expedition is more than just a physical endeavor; it’s a curated cultural and sensory experience that leaves an indelible mark on your memory. The moments you cherish along this remarkable journey will beckon you to relive them until you embark on another unforgettable adventure.

We had a wonderful cycling trip, starting in Trieste, then onto Slovenia and Croatia. Before the trip, Klemen was extremely patient with our many questions and addressed our concerns very satisfactorily- even changing the original bike route to meet our needs. The bikes we used ( e-bikes) were in great condition, and easy to use. The hotels were very satisfactory- and included big breakfasts to start our days. The towns we visited were charming. All in all- a first class experience!!

We have just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Slovenia (two adults and a 13 year old) and I can highly recommend Slovenia Cycling Holidays for their excellent service and good value for money. Nejc was very helpful from the start, replying quickly and creating our tailormade itinerary. We received great pre-trip information and files in the right format to use with our Garmin devices. The trip itself was perfect, cycling on a mix of offroad trails and quiet roads. The hotels were well chosen with comfortable, spacious rooms and welcoming and helpful staff who stored the bikes overnight. The e-bikes themselves were brand new top-of-the range and ideal for the hilly terrain - meaning we were able to see more of the countryside and get off the beaten track. Nejc continued to be on hand for any questions (messaging via WhatsApp). We were travelling in April and generally had lovely weather but on our last day, we had very heavy rain. Nejc was in contact first thing in the morning to check if we still wanted to cycle which we did. We finished early and we and the bikes were collected earlier than scheduled to avoid having to hang around in wet gear. The scenery we cycled through from Ljubljana to Lake Bled was beautiful and the people we met were friendly and welcoming. We hope to return soon.

My wife and I just came back from the self-guided tour 'from the Alps to the Adriatic' with Slovenia Cycling Holidays. Beautiful country with breathtaking scenery, all the places where we stayed were superb, more than we expected. And of course, good slovenian cuisine with good wine and beer. Everything was well done by Slovenia Cycling Holidays, from planning to service and support : all the questions answered, all the special requests handled. Everything went as planned. But most importantly we felt safe and not being left alone on the trails in the mountains because Anja was steadily reachable to resolve any issue that might happen. She resolved the few problems that arose swiftly and efficiently, to our entire satisfaction thus allowing us not only to complete the tour as scheduled but also to arrive every day at destination early enough to enjoy good slovenian wine and beer at the fabulous european terrasses. So our deep gratitude to Anja and a big thank you to the whole team for having made this trip memorable. It's without hesitation that we recommend Slovenia Cycling Holidays.

While researching for a self-guided bike tour, my wife and I came across the offer from the Alps to the Adriatic from Slovenia Cycling Holidays. We really appreciated the support from Daja and Anja when planning our tour. They were very flexible at all times, even when it came to the discussion of possible tour change requests or the choice of hotel. Back from the tour, we look back on a great trip, where not only the weather but also the "administrative" things went very well. From the hotel bookings to the luggage transportation as well as the GPS navigation, past great sights and along varied routes, everything always worked very well. Overall, the price-value ratio was very good and we would choose Slovenia Cycling Holidays definitely again.
